Mae Kham Ohn

History: Mae Kham Ohn spent her early years working in logging camps in Pak Beng District, Oudomxay Province, until the ECC purchased her in 2011. Due to her strong personality and large size, she was challenging to handle, and mahouts often struggled to control her. As a result, she was passed from one mahout to another until her last mahout made the decision to sell her to the ECC. Initially, Mae Kham Ohn was wary and distrustful, frequently escaping or running from her mahout. Her behaviour changed with the arrival of her current mahout, Mr. Bout, who showed a deep understanding of her personality and gradually earned her trust. Around the same time, she formed a close bond with Mae Boun Nam, and the two became inseparable. Today, Mae Kham Ohn has her own small herd and shares a strong connection with Mr. Bout. Although she sadly lost her calf in the womb six years ago, she found new purpose in fostering the orphaned Mae Boua Ngeun, who brings joy to Mae Kham Ohn and the entire herd.Distinguishing features: Very tall, small yellow eyes, smooth skin with few wrinkles, rounded ears without tears Personality traits: Mae Kham Ohn has a very strong personality and became the leader of the herd despite her young age.
