Our Work
Laos’ only elephant hospital. A herd of 30 under our care. A rewilding programme with no precedent in this country. This is what conservation looks like when it is measured, not marketed.
Our Mission — the 7Rs
Every elephant at the ECC moves through the same arc: Rescue, Rehabilitate, Reproduce, Reherd, Rewild, Research, Respect. The 7Rs are not a slogan. They are the actual sequence of our work — from crisis to care, and for some, back to the forest.

—Results & Impact

2010 vs. today, in hard numbers — the herd, the people, the land. The strongest transparency asset on the site.

—Beyond the fence
The forest and the classrooms
Patrols in Nam Pouy, papers in journals, children who have met an elephant without a ride. The work that leaves the site.
Patrol days
Nam Pouy National Protected Area: 33 firearms confiscated, 51 logging operations shut, 69 arrests.
Scientific publications
An endocrinology lab most sanctuaries don’t have – and 50 veterinarians trained on site.
Rangers trained
The people who walk the 192,000-hectare protected area we help to keep standing.
Schoolchildren reached
Kids in Conservation – classrooms across Sayaboury, not a visitor-centre leaflet.
Our Reach
Laos – the main sites where the WILMED Mobile Elephant Clinic is operating, including the Nam Tien Lake, the Nam Pouy National Protected Area, and the districts of Thongmixay and Luang Prabang where most operations occur. This is the landscape in which rescue, vetcare, and rewilding actually happen.
